My bestfriend caught her boyfriends little sister and her mates poking pinholes in their condoms which they keep in a draw beside their bed. She isn’t due for her period until next month. Is it lilkely that she could be pregnant?
yes, it is likely! i wouldn't keep condoms laying around like that, and use a backup next time. she can test with first response 5 days before her period.
Also, a trick my friend's husband does (to make sure they don't need to go get Plan B), after sex, they fill up the condom with water and look for leaks. Thankfully they've never had any problems, and this method has worked for them for years, and she's never had to take Plan B either. Its just a good thing to do in the future to make sure there isn't anything to worry about.

Should i Worry?
If they are taken correctly (taken the same time every day), the chance of becoming pregnant is less than 1 out of 100 women. So, percentage wise - less than 1%.
If it is NOT take correctly, the chances could increase to 8%.

I have a history of very long periods…I have thou for the past year or so been on birth control. This week I went to my OBGYN & she gave me Prenatal vitamins & told me that when I was ready to get off my birth control..to take those vitamins & wait 3 mths to get a regular cycle going & start trying for a baby…not that I’m questioning my Dr. but did I hear her right? Imp suppose to take the vitamins when I get off the birth control or get off the birth control, wait 3 mths then start taking the vitamins? I think Imp a lil confused…the only thing Imp not confused about is the day 10-15 are you fertile days!
Thanks to any clarification & any other bits of advice you may want to add!
Ok, yes taking the prenatal vitamins are a great idea to do before you get pregnant!
You do not need to stop taking them at all. Waiting three months after you stop taking the pill is helping to guarantee you have a viable pregnancy when it happens.
Days 10-15 are the usual days that a woman with a normal period will ovulate. You actually have a 36 hour window of when your egg can get fertilized. You need to track your ovulation (with a kit) for three months to chart when your LSH hormone goes up. This is when you can get pregnant. This info just helps you know when your best chance is to conceive.
Hope I didn’t confuse you more.
Good luck!
I know for a fact that they dont protect you whatsoever against STD's, but if you use the pill completely the way you are supposed to and a guy doesnt pull out, what are the chances of the girl getting pregnant? Is that what the 99% stands for when they say it is 99% effective?
I say you have a higher chance of a girl getting pregnant if you dont use a condom (and the guy not pulling out), even if shes using it perfectly.
My friend says that you cant get pregnant if you use the pill perfectly.
Whos right?
You still can get pregnant, it's not very common though. I know from experience, I took my pill every morning at 5:30 am, never fail. My daughter is now 7, i think it was the pill I was on, I've talked with a lot of girls on here that had this happen to them on the same pill (ortho tri-cyclin), but there is a chance with every pill or they would be 100%.
Just be careful, and good luck.
