I'm a small, and I'm petite. Motherhood only has ONE pair online that seem like they'd fit me, but the belly band comes up wayyy high and I'm not sure I would like that.
Any good places to find maternity clothes online?
No I'm like a prepregnancy size 1/2 or 3/4. In addition to that, I'd have to buy short pants with a 29 inch inseam.

I dread buying maternity clothes again! This is my third pregnancy and I never kept the clothes from my last two and I remember how expensive they are. Any creative ideas on clothing that can be used in place of maternity clothes, or did you just suck up the cost and buy the maternity clothing?
I think I bought 2 shirts and one dress when I was preggers with my daughter last year. Luckily, big flowing shirts and empire style cuts are in now. What I tend to do is when I go shopping I tend to look at a shirt and see if it could possibly double as maternity clothing. Sad but true. With gas prices and food prices climbing and two kids, I don’t have the resources to buy new maternity clothing every pregnancy. One thing I did buy was a Bella Band type thing from Motherhood. It’s less costly as the name brand Bella Band but it wasn’t a $5.00 purchase. But it did save my life. I never bought a pair of maternity pants, aside from some slacks. and I find myself still wearing it from time to time. Since the layered look is still popular. If you have a Baby depot nearby I would stop in a take a look, then tend to clearance a lot of their clothing for really cheap. But buying a few shirts a little larger than normal is cheaper than buying maternity shirts. The style of shirts being sold and that are popular in all stores (from Walmart to Nordstroms) are similar to those sold in Maternity shops. Also, a rubber band looped through your jeans and wrapped around the button is another way to go if you don’t want to buy a “band”. Helped me with my first pregnancy.
Also, as summer near’s it’s end, most stores are starting to “clean out” there ’summer’ stock to make way for winter clothing. You can generally find some cute clothing at low cost. Just layer it up during the winter with some things you have lying around the house.
Hopefully that helped, good luck to you!

I dont know when to start wearing maternity clothes, I am only 12 weeks pregnant but I am bigger to begin with. So I fit in most of the maternity clothes but its not really because of baby fat. I am just scared someone will ask me how far along I am and I dont want to say only 3 months. When do you start showing?
hooray for the preggo big girls! i was in the same boat as you…pre preg i was a 20. here's what i did so that i was more comfortable, but could still wear regular clothes and not have to answer the question like you were are scared to answer (i was also very much sticker shocked when i saw the price of maternity clothes…and i'm cheap like that!). empire waist shirts! i got some elastic waist pants and a bunch of empire waist shirts. i didn't feel like i was poured into anything, but i didn't have to dodge the "you're getting so big!" comments either! it just looked natural! i was able to get away with that without a problem until about 5 months. then i decided i was far along to be able to wear maternity clothes! and oh were they comfortable! a great resource is babycenter.com. there is a chat board there for plus sized pregnant women. there's so much support there, and you don't have to feel silly asking questions that a lot of skinny women wouldn't understand. congrats, and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!
