I had sex the week of my period , and I don't know if the bloating ,tender breast/nipples, and nausea are coming from me about to get on my period or if its early pregnancy symptoms. I do get all of the symptoms above when I am about to be on my period or when I am on it. But im just making sure because this is the first time im actually having a pregnancy scare. Im kinda new to all this pregnancy talk, so i mean is there a way I can tell or do I have to wait it out until the 2nd week?? Because my period varies quite frequently and I wouldnt be sure when to take a pregnancy test.
The chance of getting pregnant from having sex the week of your period is slim to none. You had already ovulated about two weeks prior, which is the window in which you are likely to get pregnant. One of the more common early symptoms of pregnancy is very tender breasts (more tender than associated with PMS, and lasts longer than it would during PMS). You can take a pregnancy test five days before your missed period, but the test isn't quite as accurate until you've actually missed your period. The pregnancy hormone these tests detect doubles every 48 hours. So, if your first test is negative, wait 48 hours to test again - the hormone will have doubled by then.
With all of that said, based on when you had sex, I doubt you're pregnant.

My next period is due October 1st or 2nd and I had sex throughout all of my fertile days.
However,
I’m not experiencing any symptoms yet.
Or none that I would attribute to pregnancy.
My question is,
did any of you out there get a symptomless BFP?
I’m getting discouraged that this will be ANOTHER BFN month..
Thank you.
The day before I was due on, I was convinced I wasn’t pregnant because I really thought I was about to come on. I didn’t. I did a test the next day. I was pregnant. So maybe its too early to experience any symptoms yet.

Just looking for personal experiences… How early did you first start to experience pregnancy symptoms? And what were the most prominent ones?
I had cramping from the week my peroid was due until about 8 weeks. It felt like mild peroid cramps. I had queasiness from week 5 til…well I'm pretty much still queasy. LOL. I get evening sickness, so right around about 8:30 or 9 at night I start to feel nauseaous. I also got some hormonal headaches.
The mood swings are probably the worst right now. I go from weepy to screaming in like 2 seconds. Hopefully it'll even out now that I'm in the second trimester!!

when do you start to feel eptopic pregnancy symptoms?
isichamp !
When it happens, Although you may experience typical signs and symptoms of pregnancy, the following symptoms may be used to help recognize a potential ectopic pregnancy:
*
Sharp or stabbing pain that may come and go and vary in intensity. The pain may be in the pelvis, abdomen or even the shoulder and neck (due to blood from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy gathering up under the diaphragm).
*
Vaginal bleeding, heavier or lighter than your normal period
*
Gastrointestinal symptoms
*
Weakness, dizziness, or fainting
It is important for you to seek emergency care if you are experiencing sharp pain or have bleeding.
Ectopic pregnancies are diagnosed by your physician, who will probably first perform a pelvic exam to locate pain, tenderness or a mass in the abdomen. Your physician will also use an ultrasound to determine whether the uterus contains a developing fetus.
The measurement of hCG levels is also important. An hCG level that is lower than what would be expected is one reason to suspect an ectopic pregnancy. Low levels of progesterone may also indicate that a pregnancy is abnormal.
Your physician may do a culdocentesis, which is a procedure that involves inserting a needle into the space at the very top of the vagina, behind the uterus and in front of the rectum. The presence of blood in this area may indicate bleeding from a ruptured fallopian tube.

If your on birthcontrol , and say you do happen to get pregnant…would the pregnancy symptoms you experience off birth control be the same if you were ON birthcontrol?
Hi there,
Not necessarily. Every woman's symptoms of being on birth control (I assume you mean the pill, or another hormonal birth control, such as the Depo-Provera shot.) are different, and it's the same with pregnancy. It's true that many pregnancy symptoms can be similar to those experienced on birth control, but they can also be symptoms of other things.
If you have reason to believe you could be pregnant, I would wait one week past your missed period (at least a week, no matter what the home pregnancy tests might tell you, as it takes many women time for the pregnancy hormone (hcg) to build up in their system.), and take a pregnancy test, to ensure that all your options are open to you and/or you can get proper pre-natal care if you choose to continue the pregnancy.
Best wishes.
