Being Pregnant? Find Everything You Need to Know

This simplified 3D medical animation depicts a normal vaginal birth using a time-lapse effect. Strong uterine contractions push the fetus (baby) forcibly through the birth canal during labor. Concurrently, a picture-in-picture effect at the upper right shows the baby’s head moving through the mother’s pelvic outlet. Hey ladies, I’m a mother of two studying to be a childbirth educator. Just out of curiosity, what were you favourite and least favourite aspects of your childbirth classes. Your advice will help me teach better classes for parents. Many thanks!

Personally, I loved most of it. The interaction with other pregnant couples, the information, etc. I also like that our instructors were also realistic about pain management options, and were very non judgmental, they covered it very factually. They didn’t try to influence you to go natural or to absolutely get an epidural.

I didn’t like the birth videos, as a first time mother (most are in childbirth classes) they scared the wits out of me. They should have shown some births with women who had epidurals too, to give a balanced view.

Good luck!!

I know in Utah, the state code states that public breasfeeding, and showing he breast incidental to breastfeeding cannot be conisdered a lewd act. This makes breastfeeding protected in Utah.

What states are not yet as progressive as Utah as far as breastfeeding?

Thirty-nine states have laws with language specifically allowing women to breastfeed in any public or private location (Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wyoming)

I breastfed / am breastfeeding my kids and I did it just about everywhere and anywhere. Though by the time they were talking in sentences we pretty much confined it to before bed and nap time.
